About the Cat Health Bulletin

The idea behind this blog is to compile the best information about cats, allowing every cat owner on the internet to find a range of help, advice and ideas to keep their cat healthy. I don’t like dwelling on the health issues that plague our feline companions, but ignoring them won’t make them go away. Hence I have taken it upon myself to bite the bullet and write about the problems your cat might experience at some point in his life, in the hope that it might help you and him through it with the minimum of trouble.

Recent studies have shown that nearly 90% of cat owners in the UK would put their cat to sleep if they had to pay over £1500 for veterinary treatment. Considering the fact that 1/3 of the cats in the UK are taken to the vet every year – this seems highly irresponsible and quite cruel! In my opinion, don’t get a cat if you are not willing to do everything you can to support it. I accept that £1500 is a lot of money, but there many different kinds of cat insurance out there, which will cover you cat for over £2000 of care for under £5 per week!

Of course, it’s not just money that protects cats. It also helps to knowing what they can and cannot eat, which diseases are common and what their symptoms are and what should be done about them. In this blog, I aim to provide a range of advice on all these issues and more, in the hope that it will help make the UK a better place for cats!
